A Little About Me…
Hello! I’m excited that you’ve found your way to my website and that you’re taking the time to look around. My name is Jon Stoltzfus and I am the proud owner of Happy Valley Publishing, LLC. I’d like to take a moment to tell you about myself, my journey to this stage of my career and my goals for Happy Valley Publishing and its role in helping you and your business.
I live just outside State College, PA – home of The Pennsylvania State University and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Those familiar with the area will tell you that this pocket of central Pennsylvania is also known as Happy Valley. I’ve lived here with my wife for almost 20 years and together we are raising three wonderful daughters. While I’ve spent most of that time working as an engineer, I’ve always held onto a strong passion for reading and writing in a wide range of genres, topics and industries. I developed my technical writing and marketing skills over the course of my career and decided in 2011 to leverage that experience to found Happy Valley Publishing, LLC.
How I got here…
I have over 18 years’ experience in engineering, computer programming, project management, business development and marketing, primarily in support of the U.S. Defense Industry. I’ve authored or co-authored over 15 technical reports, generated more than 100 informational briefs and marketing packages, assembled and submitted 15-20 proposals ranging from $50k to $20M, and I’ve developed technical marketing plans for an $800M defense industry contractor. In short, I’ve been involved with every step of the marketing and business development process.
And throughout my career I realized one thing… I really like writing! Especially about topics I’m passionate about – like investing and technology.
That’s why over the past several years I’ve added to my practical experience with additional training in copywriting and marketing. That way, I can provide the ideal combination of content knowledge and marketing savvy to my customers.
So what does that mean to you?
When you work with me, you’re not working with an awkward, impersonal engineer. You’re also not working with a slick salesperson, only intent on selling the one product they know best. The unique advantage I bring to your business is the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of prospects. Whether providing the 10,000 foot view or diving down into the details, I’ll deliver the right information to the right prospect.
I hope you’ll take the time to contact me to discuss your business and goals. I firmly believe that there is no “one size fits all” marketing plan – I’ll work endlessly to fully understand your prospective customers and how best to identify, educate and engage them about your products or services.
